Early 1995 – PAUL MORRICONE, STEVEN MORRICONE and a young BILL BAILEY sit around in a house in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire looking dejected. Their lives are at a crucial turning point. Caught between post-academia and the looming threat of jobs, they decide to take some action. Thrown together amongst a torrent of boring mediocrity, the three combine to fight as one ruthless aural assault unit. This is the beginning of SCARAMANGA.

Summer 1995 – Other accomplices are brought in complete the job. A nonchalant JOHN GULLIVER saunters in declaring that he can sing, play some keyboards and a bit of violin. This was his first venture into band dynamics and it soon hardened him for what was to come. John’s infiltration was not without thorough vetting. Scaramanga soon realised that his singing and particularly his violin playing were bogus. The keyboards were good though. EMMA CALVERT talked her way in to the set, threatening to ‘blow herself up’ if she couldn’t sing and beat some drums. Scaramanga tentatively take to a stage at Dr. Browns, Huddersfield for their first appearance.

Autumn 1995 – Scaramanga record a demo tape called ‘Tetsura’ at Hall Place Studios, Leeds. Shortly after, a long-time cohort JEM BOWDEN is drafted in to make a proper job of the drums. Now a six piece, Scaramanga start the hideous transformation into a decent live band.
